Mark is an internationally recognised quantum technology business leader, responsible for overseeing Quantum Brilliance’s presence in Europe. Prior to Quantum Brilliance, Mark led IBM’s Quantum Ambassador program, running an international team of 250+ experts to perform business development, pre-sales, and technical sales for IBM’s commercial Quantum Network. He was the German delegate to the NATO Emerging and Disruptive Technologies expert group until 2022 and was directly involved in designing NATO’s Innovation Fund and NATO DIANA.
Throughout his career Mark has successfully driven the adoption of innovative technologies into business, being responsible for hybrid electronics development at Thorn EMI from 1985-1989, a member of IBM’s Internet Innovation Team responsible for commercial development of the world wide web from 1989, managing the first e-Commerce platform in the world in 2006, and running a variety of technology driven businesses culminating in joining the IBM Quantum Team in 2016.
Mark has a Bachelor of Science, Joint Honours in Computing and Electronics, and received his PhD from the University of Durham in 1989. He is also an adjunct professor of cognitive science at the University of Osnabrueck.
