Santiago brings 15+ years’ experience in plasma processing of materials and in managing R&D programs. He leads the Epitaxy and Instrumentation team in Germany, focusing on CVD process development and instrumentation for atomic-scale fabrication (ASF). His remit includes diamond supply and substrate preparation for ASF activities.

Since joining Quantum Brilliance, Santiago has also built strategic partnerships with RMIT and La Trobe University, led ASF from concept to pilot readiness, and established core capabilities for the Quantum Diamond Foundry, including equipment strategy and site selection.

Santiago holds a PhD in Plasma Surface Engineering from the University of Birmingham in the UK. His postdoctoral experience includes appointments with CSIRO, University of Birmingham, and Deakin University.
