Dr. rugang geng
Rugang advances the development of diamond-based quantum systems by bridging fundamental research and practical engineering, translating insights into viable quantum components, and working closely with the hardware and software teams to inform system design.
Prior to Quantum Brilliance, Rugang was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of New South Wales node of The ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science where he employed advanced spin and optical spectroscopic techniques to investigate exciton dynamics in organic semiconductors. A key outcome of his research was the development of a magnetic field quantum sensor based on organic light emitting diodes, which was patented and later spun out into the early-stage startup UBIQUT.
Rugang holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Optics from the Harbin Institute of Technology and a PhD in Physics from the University of Georgia.
